CBD Edibles FAQs
What are CBD edibles best for?
Many users claim that CBD edibles help to alleviate pain, anxiety, depression, and inflammation. Ingesting CBD in this way can also improve sleep by reducing anxiety-induced insomnia.
Whilst they may not be the most efficient method to consume CBD, they are a fantastic way to enjoy the benefits of cannabidiol (not to mention the tastiest!) and have long-lasting effects.
Does it take long for CBD edibles to kick in?
It can take anywhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours before you feel the effects.
While CBD edibles can be sucked, chewed, or swallowed, chewing them is the fastest way to absorb CBD into the bloodstream.
When taken orally, CBD passes through the digestive system before it gets into your bloodstream.
The effects of CBD oil put under the tongue can be felt within 15 minutes, and topical forms of CBD (e.g. ointments, balms, and skin lotions) take effect almost immediately. But the effects of CBD edibles are much longer-lasting (usually up to 8 hours!). Ideal for people who are on-the-go.
How many CBD edibles should you eat per day?
Typically, people take 1-5 CBD edibles each day, depending on their potency and specific requirements.
Some eat them in the morning to help them feel alert and more productive, whereas others enjoy them right before bedtime to ensure they sleep well.
Whilst it’s impossible to overdose on CBD edibles, eating too many could cause the following side effects:
- Diarrhoea
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Irritation
- Loss of appetite
Our best advice is, only eat one edible at a time It’s better to start off steadily – taking half of the recommended dose – and gradually increase the dose over time until you reach the recommended threshold.
